Basically, I sit at my beloved geekbox all day making swank designs for cool folks. I love it!
However, it is much more complicated than that. There’s all this business about typography, composition, grids, white space, color theory, and usability to consider (and that’s just for starters). Lucky for you, I’ve spent my lifetime thus far completely filling my brain with all this creative goodness, saving you from the burden of carpal tunnel and eyestrain, so that you can rest easy—confident that I will create something that not only looks cool, but functions as intended.
To find out more about what I can do for you, check out my web or print portfolio, or download my résumé. If you have any questions or comments you can fill out my handy dandy contact form, Email me, or phone me at (616) 990-8991. I will make it a priority to get back to you within 24 hours.
With over six years experience in graphic design, I pride myself in having the nerdy skills to build top notch creations online, as well as in print—manipulating pixels and making sure each and every graphical element is in the right place. All my web sites are lovingly hand coded in XHTML & CSS and are W3C compliant and SEO friendly. I am completely proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, and I love creating or refreshing logos, brochures, business cards, and anything else your heart desires.
I believe in good planning, hard work, transparency and communication, and in turn deliver the best possible product for you and the audience to whom you are accountable. I don’t stop until the job is done, and done well—even if that means staying up until the wee hours of the morning.
When I'm not dinking around on my computer, you'll find me swimming laps at the pool, randomly doing handstands, or proving myself victorious in a killer battle of Dance, Dance, Revolution. I appreciate good food, red wine, spicy salsa, many music & movie genres, and coffee so chock full of milk and sugar that it manifests an off-white color. Also, I love The Beatles and am bilingual in Spanish. 'Nuff said.

Recruiting college students to join the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ is crucial to the organization’s continued growth. A set of eight articles intended to ground a new believer in the Christian faith. The layout is clean with each article taking on a different color so as to set them apart and lay out the order. This design presents a low-budget solution to meet the client's needs.
This recruiting brochure was a collaborative effort with fellow designer, Scott Freeman, with the purpose of promoting job opportunities with our client's Information & Technology Team to graduating college students. Scott came up with the basic concept and the illustration, together we developed the slogan “You’re IT! Save the World…Develop Software”, and I worked on the layout and typography of the piece, capturing a techy, comic-book feel.
EveryStudent.com is a multi-language, evangelical web site created and used by the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ. I was in charge of the redesign of this 16-page pamphlet designed for the Mexican ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ to use in leading people to Christ. Printed were 20,000 pamphlets to be distributed and used by staff throughout Mexico and Latin America.

“The Challenge” was an invitation-only, weekend conference designed to inspire college students nationwide and give a glimpse of what life is like as a staff member with Campus Crusade for Christ. The top logo was designed for a retreat for selected leaders in the Christian Hispanic community, entitled "Extreme Leadership". I came up with the basic concept & color scheme, chose the typeface, and executed the illustration.
The bottom logo was a collaborative effort with fellow designer, Robin Cranson, for a new Mexican ministry called "Dynamic Family". Robin came up with the basic concept & color scheme for the logo, and I tightened up the illustration, chose the typeface, and added a gradient effect.
For two consecutive years, the local ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ in Puebla, Mexico came to me requesting some simple, low-cost Christmas party invitations to pass out to students on campus. My solution was to create business card sized invites containing all the information, yet allowing for it to be cost-effective.
I used the colors from the organization's pre-existing logo (shown at the top, left corner) to create these business cards made for the entire National Office staff of Campus Crusade for Christ in Mexico. The back of the card contains a logo that I designed simplifying the four main points of the organization's famous, most-used tool, "The Four Spiritual Laws".
